Avast Antivirus – This is the free version. Whichever program you use – ensure it’s updated every year, with daily virus updates.
Malwarebytes – Update first, then run at least weekly.
CCleaner – Run Cleaner + Registry Cleaner weekly to clear up old files to prevent your computer from slowing down.
Dreamhost – Affiliate link for easy to use web hosting, with automatic set up of WordPress to start your site instantly.
Weebly – Affiliate link for simple, stress-free management. You can create a free website with no technical skills required, and the paid version is under $5 a month. It’s an all in package, so you don’t have to find a separate host.
Dropbox – Free storage of your files up to 2 GB.
Prestashop – Free, open source online store to sell directly from your site.
e-Junkie – You can sell digital products and pdf eBooks for only $5 a month for up to 10 products and 50MB of storage. As well as a choice of payment systems, you can set up affiliate management.
Morguefile – Free photos. (Always check the licensing information for each one.)
Kickstarter – You can apply for crowd funding if your project fits into one of these categories: Art, Comics, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Food, Games, Music, Photography, Publishing, Technology, and Theater.
New Enterprise Allowance – The main benefit is having a mentor who will offer expert guidance and support, to help participants explore their business idea and prepare a business plan. You will receive an allowance for the first 6 months, and you can apply for a start up loan, after your business plan has been approved.
Prime – A source of support for the over 50s run by the Prince’s Trust.
Start Ups – Collection of information to help you start your business.
Government for Business – All you need to start different types of businesses, plus copyright and tax information.
